Services for companies

The Chair of Particle Technology has set itself the goal of accompanying new products and processes from basic research to application in industry. The chair therefore also sees itself as a service provider for companies. This ranges from the performance of simple measurements to long-term research projects in cooperation with industrial partners.

In the field of analytics, the following measurements can be offered:

• Particle size analysis by laser diffraction or sieve classification
• Density determination of powders
• Powder characterization with a ring or Jenike shear instrument
• UV-Vis analyses
• FT-IR analyses
• Viscosity measurements with a rotational or capillary rheometer
• DSC measurements (atmospheric and high pressure)
• Measurements of solubilities, interfacial tensions, densities, viscosities of gas-containing solutions and melts under pressure
• Mass transfer investigations on levitated droplets

In addition to the measurement equipment, extensive laboratory and pilot plant facilities are available for product and process development. Work can be offered in the following areas:

• Fluidized bed coating/fluidized bed agglomeration
• Spray drying/spray crystallization
• High pressure spray processes for particle generation PGSS/CPF/RESS/GAS
• Sorption measurements with pure substances and mixtures
• Electrolysis under high pressure
